Mission (Raison d'être)

Through the Revision, we are committed to creating the Anglican Prayer Book for the Japan of the 21st century, which values life in all of its colorful diversity.

Vision (Goal, Ideal)

The Revised Prayer Book will be a book of prayer that will be used by those who share the faith and life of the Nippon Sei Ko Kai to walk with Christ on the journey as a people created and given life by God.

Values (Guidelines for action)

Missional

  • Be aware of the "Five Marks of Mission"
  • Respect "the colorful diversity" in various ways
  • Respond to contemporary issues
  • Consider the reality of Japanese society and Nippon Sei Ko Kai, and have a vision for the future

Theological

  • Respect Anglicanism's "Scripture, Tradition, and Reason"
  • Adopt the latest findings and practices

Practical

  • Be a prayer book that looks 30 years ahead
  • Be ecumenical
  • Use Japanese language appropriate for worship
  • Be a companion on the journey of faith
  • Promote the ministry of the laity
